Gaylon Pope |
Gaylon brings many years of experience to the Jamboree. It all began in Gospel music at the age of twelve with The Sing Ambassadors. His professional career began at the age of 17 with Larry Strickland (Husband of Naomi Judd) and The Glory Road Quartet. It was during this time that Gaylon and the group became the original PTL Singers for the PTL Network. They toured nationally, making TV and radio appearances and also performed on the Grand Ole Opry. Gaylon has performed with Larry Gatlin, Barbara Mandrell, Dottie West, George Morgan, Jerry Clower, The Oak Ridge Boys and many more. Other Gospel groups that Gaylon has been a part of include: The Chordsmen, The Majestics, Jerry & The Goffs, and The Stamps Quartet (Elvis’ Back-up singers) He has recorded many albums and has produced other projects. Gaylon has also served on the Music & Fine Arts committee for the North Carolina District of The Assemblies of God. He toured with The Embers in 1997, and from October 1998 to March of 2003, he was a cast member of the American Music Jubilee show in Selma, North Carolina, where he performed as one of the vocal members and shared the MC responsibilities. With many years of experience in the entertainment business, Gaylon brings a standard of excellence to the Jamboree production. When he is not in the office or performing, he enjoys walking on the beach and spending time at home. You are sure to enjoy the performance of this “seasoned” entertainer, who gives every show 110%. One of the things he enjoys most is working with his fellow cast members of the Jamboree show. “I respect every one of them and the hard work they put into every production,” says Gaylon, “and they deserve every standing ovation they receive". |
